News! Friday May the Twenty-Ninth MMIX

New album time! Once again I have no true album art for it yet, but I couldn't resist letting everyone have a go at it. This time around the title is Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving last year I wrote the song of the same title and I anchored some old and new songs around it on this outing.

Most of these tracks were written over the winter and springtime thaw and have been sitting in my song barrel collecting rain. I recorded them last month in a couple of lonely evenings (Bonnie was in Connecticut) and was happy to leave them at that.

Hope you enjoy! Look below for the MP3s: they're free so go ahead and download them!

So, really, who are you?

I'm Jake Wildwood. I've lived a few places in my short years: the great California Republic, the farm and dairy hills of Connecticut, the sun, sea, and smog of Rhode Island, and now with my true love up in Vermont.

Some time ago I started playing music and have since learned to fumble my hands on a bunch of stringed instruments. I've always done a bunch of writing whether it be songs or poems or stories, but I've always loved songs best, ever since listening to Led Zeppelin III and daydreaming when I was a kid.

There's a lot that goes into a song, but suffice to say I mostly write about people I know and my own hopes for life and the world in general.

Right now I'm restoring vintage and antique instruments (click here for my restoration blog) as my day job, something I'm entirely lucky and thrilled to be doing thanks to our shared business venture up here with Bonnie's folks (click here to see).
